How do you charge for your services?

I charge for the time I spend working for you.  I tally the time I work on your file.  I total this time in hours and divide it by 7 to get a daily total.

For each stage of our work together I will prepare a workplan proposal with an estimated time. I commit to deliver within that estimate unless we mutually decide more work is needed.  If my work requires less time than estimated, I pass the savings on to my client.

How long do preparation and follow-up take?

In general, a day-long session takes a day to prepare.  If a full record of the meeting is needed, this takes a day to write-up.  So the average day-long session will require three days of my time.  I say average because it could be less or more depending on your needs.

How much time is required for mediation?

For conflict resolution, there are three steps:

  1. Interviewing parties involved or impacted
  2. Reporting back to the client recommending next steps
  3. Holding a mediation meeting or whatever intervention is needed

I’ll work through an example.  If there are four people in a team who find their work difficult because of unresolved conflict, my proposal could look like this:

Total: 2.5 days (actually 2.89 but as the work falls roughly into 2 1/2 days this feels fair to me and is a saving for the client)
